Kitty knows that food brings people together. She’s seen it firsthand at Dunn Ave. where she has worked for 23 years. Kitty is a trusted Personal Support Worker there and was recently recognized with the 2025 Bhayana Family Foundation award for Dedication.

Kitty’s commitment extends beyond her role as a caregiver – she has been a Team Leader and embraced an activation role to help create outings to enrich clients’ lives and help them stay connected to the community. She’s especially known for her cooking – preparing homecooked meals for 100 residents on every holiday with the help of her fellow PSW, Tenzin Wangmo.

“At home, clients may have been neglected, and no one talks to them. So, I cook every holiday, and when we bring them down, it’s a very good opportunity to meet with people and have fun. They are very appreciative of my cooking, and I cook from the deep of my heart to give to them.”

Her meals have become a cherished tradition, bringing together a community of people who often face adversity and food insecurity. Kitty is a shining example of the profound impact one person can have through kindness, empathy, and dedication.
